Inaugurated in August 2005, Confucius Institute, NTU (CI-NTU) is a joint collaboration between the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
It is the only Chinese language and cultural institute in Singapore co-sponsored by the Chinese Central Government. Being one of the earliest Confucius Institute to be set up, CI-NTU is partnering with one of the most renowned university in China, Shandong University.
The new CI-NTU premise was officially launched by Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and his Excellency Xu Jialu, Vice Chairmen of the Standing Committee of the National Peoples' Congress of China on 14th July 2007.
CI-NTU conducts more than one hundred courses and events every year with around 550 participants. There are twelve full time staff in CI-NTU.
