In February 2008, the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) signed an agreement to jointly establish a Confucius Institute with Fuxing Language and Computer School in Myanmar.

Located in Yangon, the Fuxing Language and Computer School was established in September, 2002, an overseas school with more than 700 students and 20 teachers, subordinate to the Fujianese Association in Yangon.

It will offer Chinese courses for local primary and secondary school students as well as nearby communities, in addition to holding various cultural activities and HSK examinations in the hope of increasing Sino-Myanmar friendship and strengthening economic and trade exchange between the two countries.
