The Confucius Institute at Chulalongkorn University was established with the cooperation between Chulalongkorn University, Thailand and Peking University, China.
Chulalongkorn University is Thailand's first institution of higher learning, which officially came into being in March, 1917. It was named after King Chulatongkorn (Rama V). It is one of the best universities in Thailand and enjoys great prestige in the field of higher education.
It has 16 institutions, two graduate schools, two campuses, eleven research centers, two education centers and three attached schools. The Chinese Language education and research in Chulalongkorn University is in the leading position in Thailand.
The Confucius Institute of Chulalongkorn University is a non-profit institution with the purpose to produce qualified professionals of Chinese language with doctor and master degrees. At the same time, professional development for Chinese teachers in middle schools and universities as well as research on Chinese culture and philosophy will also be carried out.
