Tiger Hill
To the northwest of the old city of Suzhou,Tiger Hill has a history of over1,500 years.The YunyanTemple Pagoda,which pierces into the cloudsmhas a history of over 1,000 years.Now it leans slightly toward northwest and has become the symbol of Suzhou,Legend has it that the tomb of He LV,king of the state of Wu during the Spring and Autumn period(770-476B.C.),WAS UNDER THE Sward Pool,with over 3,000 swords as burial accessories,including the famous Fish Belly Sword.Tiger Hill is also an important venue for folk assemblies.The Golden Autumn Temple Fair held in Tiger Hill every yiar displays the prosperity of folk arts.
Humble Administuator’s Garden
Within Loumen in Suzhoum,the Humble Administrator’s Garden is the largest pricate garden in China.It has been included in the List of World Heritages.Constructed in the Zhengde reign (1506-1521)of the Ming Dynasty,the garden as it stands today falls into eastern,central and western parts,and the southern part is the dwelling quarter.The central part is the quintessence of the garden,mainly complsed of waterside landscapes,a large pond and lushly growing trees,and all the main architectural structures stand by the pond.The Humble Administratou’s Garden is simple,lucid,natural and elegant.The main tourist attractions in the garden include the Wafting Fragrance Hall,Fragrance Isle,Pavillon with Lotus Breeze from Four Sides,Lesser Flying Rainbow,Mountain Viewing Tower and Loquat Orchard.The Lesser Flying Rainbow is the only porched bridge in all the gardens of Suzhou.
Silk Factory
China’s four famous styles of embroidery are those of Suzhou,Hunan,Sichuan and Guangdong.Suzhou embroidery consists of very detailed representations of almost any subject embroidered onto fine silk and cotton cloth with colored silk thread.Thanks to its neat stitches,beautiful patterns and exquisite colors,the Suzhou embroidered artworks have been presented to foreign guests by the Chinese state leaders as gifts time and again.Hence the Silk Factouy has become the best venue for tourists to see Suzhou embroidery techniques with their own eyes.
