Emperor Qin Shihuang’s Terracotta Warriors and Horses

Located on the eastern side of the Mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shihuang(first emperor of the QinDynasty),the Museum of Emperor Qin Shihuang’s Terracotta Warriors and Horses mainly consists of Nos.1,2 and 3 pits,display a large number of magnificent terracotta warriors and horses.The pits cover a total area of 22780sq m,and contain over 7400 pottery warriors and horses,over 100 chariots and over 40,000 bronze bojects.All the terracotta warriors and horses,chariots are vivid and lifelike,showing the power and dignity of Emperor Qin Shihuang.Thands to their large scale and strong artist applea,Emperor Qin Shihuang’s Terracotta Warriors and Horses,known as a bright pearl of the ancient Oriental art,have been included into the List of the World Heritages.

Shaanxi History Museum

The City Wall of Xi’an

First constructed in the Hongwu reign(1370-1378) of the Ming Dynasty,it is the best-preserved ancient city wall in China,and the largest and most complete ancient military caltle in the world.The circumference of the city wall comes to 13,912m.It is 12 m high and 18 m wide at the bottom,and 15 m wide at the top.It is solid,firm and magnificent,with four gates on forusides,i.e.,Changle Gate,Anding Gate,Yongning Gate and Anyuan Gate.The city wall contains a moat,suspension vridges,sluice towers,arrow towers and other military facilitiesm,forming a rigorous and complete city defense system in the era of cold weapons,This precious historical site presemts the true scene of ancient war.Meanwhile,the city wall of Xi’an has become a venue for Xi’an to hold cultural,sports and tourism activities.In particular,the ancient-style guest-welcoming ceremony is enthusiastic and solemn,hence the name”No.1 Chinese ceremony for welcoming guests.”
