Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas
The “Three Parallel Rivers” means the parallel following of the three rivers of Jinshajiang, Nujiang and Lancangjiang in the territory of Yunnan Province from north to south for over 170km after they originate from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau by cutting through the high mountains and lofty ranges such as the Dandanglika, Gaoligong, Nushan, Yunling and so on, to form the wonderful natural geographic landscape of “river waters flowing in paralleling with each other but never meeting” that is rarely crossed by in the world.
Among them the shortest linear distance between LancangjiangRiver and JinshajiangRiver is only 66km, while the shortest linear distance between LancangjiangRiver and NujiangRiver is less than 19km.
