The Imperial Summer Resort (Chengde Mountain Resort), also known as the "Rehe palace", located in the narrow valley to the north of the center of Chengde City in Hebei Province in northern China, covers an area of 584 hectares.
The Imperial Summer Resort was first built in the 42th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi (1703 AD), and it was suspended in the period of Yongzheng (1723 ~ 1736 AD in office); from the 6th year of the reign of the Emperor Qianlong (1741 AD) to the 57th year (1792 AD), it was continued to build, in the period of the reign of Qianlong (1736AD-1796AD), an increase of 36 sceneries and 8 temples outside the Villa were added.
The entire construction of the Imperial Summer Resort lasted for nearly 90 years. During this period, the Qing Dynasty was powerful and many craftsmen convened here. In the 50th year of the reign of Emperor of Kangxi (1662 -1723 in office) inscribed the words "Imperial Summer Resort" on the door of mountain resort. It is mainly divided into two parts of the palace area and the landscape area.
