Shanghai Wildlife Park, China’s first national wildlife park constructed by Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and State Forestry Bureau is located in the area of Sanzao Town of Nanhui District of Shanghai Pudong with an area of 153 hectares (2300 mu), which is about 35km from the center of the city. The investment on the park is RMB 300,000,000. It opens to the outside world on November 18, 1995 officially and is among the first batche of national AAAAA tourist attractions. Shanghai Wildlife Park was officially approved by National Tourist Administration to be national AAAAA tourist area on May 8, 2007.

The State Council declared the Temple of Heaven as “national key culture relic protection unit” in 1961. It is included in the UNESCO world heritage list in 1998. The park of the Temple of Heaven was officially approved by National Tourist Administration to be national AAAAA tourist area on May 8, 2007.

In the park there are altogether more than 200 species of representative animals and rare animals reaching to a number of over 10,000, of which giraffe, zebra, antelope, white rhinoceros and so on are from aborad, besides, giant panda, golden monkey, South China Tiger and so on are wildlife under first class state protection.
