The main waterfall is 67 m (220 ft) high and 83.3 m (273 ft) wide, known as Asia's largest waterfall. Huangguoshu scenic spot is centered on the Grand Huangguoshu Falls and provided with other 18 falls of various sizes. Featuring grandness, oddness, steepness and elegance, they jointly form an enormous “Waterfall Family”. Huangguoshu Falls has been listed in the Guinness World Records as the biggest waterfal family in the world.
The Grand Huangguoshu Falls is the most imposing one among the waterfall cluster and is one of the most extensive and spectacular falls in the world. It is the only one on the earth available for viewing from upper, lower, front, rear, left and right positions. In addition, it is the only one provided with naturally perforated waterfall caves, from the inside or outside of which you can hear, view and touch the falls. The great traveler Xu Xiake of Ming Dynasty wrote a poem to praise it, “Like pearl and jade, the spray sprinkles out. Like smoke and fog rising from the bottom. Like bead curtain without rolling. Like white cloth hangs far on the side of the steep mountain. All these analogies cannot used to describe its grandeur, broadness and highness.”
