The Yellow Emperor's tomb is located on Qiaoshan Hill in north Huangling County. It is said to be the mausoleum of Emperor Yellow Xuan Yuan, the primogenitor of Chinese nation as well as a great tribe leader in the end of Primitive Society of China in history. He was also said to have invented numerous useful items, such as weapons made by jade, ships, wheels, bows and arrows. His wife was said to have developed silk production. Other legends about the Yellow Emperors are as follows: the official historian named Cangji invented characters; the minister named Danao invented the earliest form of the Chinese calendar and the official in charge of munic produced musical instruments. The reason why China was able to stand towering in the world out of the four great ancient civilizations is that it is inseparable with the devotion of Yellow Emperor. (Known as “The First Mausoleum in the World”, the Yellow Emperor's tomb has served as the symbol of Chinese civilization)
