On April 11, Mr. Yang Zhi, Director-General of International Training Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (CRIHAP) paid a courtesy call to the ASEAN-China Centre and exchanged views with Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang .
Mr. Yang introduced the main objectives of CRIHAP which are to promote the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), to contribute to its implementation in the Asia-Pacific Region, to increase the participation of society in safeguarding ICH and to enhance the capacity of the Asia-Pacific Member States of UNESCO in safeguarding ICH.
Mr. Ma expressed the desire to establish a cooperative relationship with CRIHAP, to jointly promote the exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN Member States in safegurading ICH, and to contribute to the capacity development of ASEAN Member States in this field.
