On 6 July 2012, Mr. Sukhum Laowansiri, Chairman of the ASEAN Trade Promotion Association and the other representatives from the Association paid a courtesy call to the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) and exchanged views with Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang.
Mr. Ma briefed about the establishment of ACC, its organizational structure, and its main obligations. He highlighted activities that ACC initiated recently to promote the comprehensive bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade and investment.
Mr. Sukhum Laowansiri introduced that the aim of the ASEAN Trade Promotion Association is to provide coordination services for inter-trade to the business community among the member states, as well as provide expert support to business exploration in China. He also introduced the 2012 ASEAN (Bangkok) China Import and Export Commodities Fair which will be held in November this year and hoped ACC could help to invite Chinese enterprises to participate the Fair.
Both sides agreed that there was a great potential for the cooperation between the ACC and the Association.
