In March 2001, UNESCO bestowed the title "Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" to the Hudhud chants of the Ifugaos of Northern Luzon. Mr. Yang Zhi elaborated on the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage adopted by the UNESCO in 2003, such as its purposes, main domains, organs and ratification progress, and the work done by CRIHAP in the promotion of the ICH safeguarding in the Asia-Pacific region.
