On August 9, 2012, Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang met with visiting Datuk Jebasingam Issace John of the Development Council of East Coast Economic Region (ECER) of Malaysia at the ACC and held talks with him on building cooperative relations between the two sides.
Datuk Jebasingam Issace John said to Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang that the Chinese and Malaysian governments jointly supported building the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park last October and as its sister park, the two governments also support building the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park in the East Coast Economic Region of Malaysia. With a total planning area of 1500 acres, the Kuantan Industrial Park will serve as a comprehensive industrial and logistics hub which focuses on the development of tourism, oil, natural gas and petrochemical products, manufacturing, agriculture and education. The Park will offer eligible investors such incentives as tax benefits, tax exemption and preferential land price. Datuk Jebasingam Issace John hoped to step up cooperation with the ACC to better promote the Kuantan Industrial Park.
