Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang attended the 5th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week

On 17 September 2012, Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang attended the 5th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW)and spoke at the opening ceremony in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. 

In his opening remarks, Mr. Ma Mingqiang briefly introduced the background of the ACC, assured the 500 participants from ASEAN and China that the ACC is committed to serving as a facilitator of good neighborness and mutual trust, an initiator of pragmatic cooperation and an advocator of friendship between ASEAN and China. 

During this year’s CAECW, a range of activities are to be held, including the China-ASEAN University Rectors’ Forum, China-ASEAN Medical Education Forum, China-ASEAN Vocational Education Forum and etc. 

The CAECW has been held annually since 2008 in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, with the China-ASEAN Education Ministers Roundtable held in 2010. As a supporting agency of this year’s CAECW, the ACC provided consultancy on various matters concerning the CAECW.

As suggested by the ACC, the Director of the SEAMEO Secretariat and several Centre Diretors participated this year’s CAECW.
