2012 China-ASEAN Cultural Forum was held in Nanning on September 11 2012. The Forum was organized by the Ministry of Culture of China, local government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and supported by ASEAN-China Centre. 150 delegates from ASEAN Member States, ASEAN Secretariat, and the Republic of Korea attended the Forum.

Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang Vice Minister of Culture, Madam Zhao Shaohua, Vice Governor of Guangxi, Madam Li Kang, Mr. Zhou Heping, Director of National Library of China and Director of National Library of Singapore, Madam. Ngian Lek Choh delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. Mr. Ma in his speech, introduced the objectives and responsibilities of ASEAN-China Centre(ACC), with emphasis that one of its major objectives is to promote ASEAN & China exchanges and cooperation in the field of culture through providing the one-stop service of information and activities. Mr. Ma also briefed on the main works in the area of culture that ACC has undertaken since its establishment.

As an important mechanism and platform of cooperation and dialogue in the field of culture between ASEAN & China, China-ASEAN Cultural Forum has been successfully held for six sessions. ACC, as supporter of the Forum, will network and work closely with ASEAN cultural officials and experts so as to lay a solid foundation for further ASEAN-China cultural exchange.
