On 20 December 2012, East Malaysia Investment Company, the investment consortium of Chinese private enterprises to ASEAN, which is formed with the proposal of ASEAN-China Centre, held a meeting with Investment and Development Bureau of Malaysia in ACC. Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang of ACC chaired the meeting.
Secretary-General Ma said that with the rapid development of China's economy, Chinese enterprises, especially private ones owned very strong intention to go global but most of them were in shortage of the knowledge of overseas investment environment and policies. ACC would like to shoulder the responsibility to provide information and hold activities for Chinese enterprises access to ASEAN.
On behalf of Malaysian delegation, Mr. Simon Lee Yew Weng, the investment consul of Malaysian Consulate General in Shanghai said that Investment and Development Bureau of Malaysia is the one-stop governmental organization to assist foreign companies investing in Malaysia. It will provide Chinese investing company with comprehensive service in Malaysia.
In the meeting, the representatives of the consortium entrepreneurs and the officials of Investment and Development Bureau made in-depth discussion on the investment projects and policies of Sabah, Malaysia.
