On 2 April 2013, the ASEAN Senior Officials, who were attending the 19th ASEAN-China Senior Officials Consultation held in Beijing, paid a visit to the ASEAN-China Centre. Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang met with the ASEAN Senior Officials and briefed on the work of the ACC.
Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang said that the ACC hosted more than 150 activities in 2012, including many influential projects such as ASEAN products sales centre in Yiwu, ASEAN investment consortium, CCTV documentary on Cambodian tourism, Thai night, ASEAN Ambassador lecture series and scholarships granted by private enterprises to ASEAN students, which efficiently help push forward ASEAN-China two-way flow of trade, investment and personnels. This year, the ACC will continue to promote ASEAN-China practical cooperation by organizing various activities. In this regard, the ACC wishes it could receive further support and assistance from the ASEAN Member States.
The representative of the ASEAN Senior Officials, Permanent Secretary Pehin Yosuf of Brunei Foreign Affairs Ministry, highly appreciated the ACC's efforts and achievements and pledged consistent support from ASEAN side. He expressed hope that the ACC will keeps on with its initiatives and push ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership to a higher level.
At the invitation of the ACC, the ASEAN Senior Officials watched a traditional performance of Kunqu opera and live Chinese paining.
