ACC Representatives at the 7th Meeting of Directors-General, Secretaries-General, Commissioners of Higher Education in Southeast Asia

Mr. Wang Daoyu, Deputy Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division of the ACC attended the 7th Meeting of Directors- General, Secretaries-General, Commissioners of Higher Education in Southeast Asia held in Cambodia on 9 April 2013. Mr. Wang's participation was at the invitation of Ms. Sauwakon Ratanawijitrasin, Director of SEAMEO RIHED of the Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization. The meeting brought together Secretaries-General, Directors-General and Commissioners of Higher Education from the Ministries of Education of the ten ASEAN countries.  Mr. Pit Chamnan, the Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports,  of attended the opening ceremony. 

Mr. Wang gave an introduction to of the ACC and its work in on education with a focus on the cooperation to act as gateway for each other between the ACC and SEAMEO and the cooperation concerning the Department of Education of Guizhou Province at the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (the Week). He invited all Directors Ggeneral to the Week held on 16 September this year and offered suggestions on education cooperation and exchanges with ASEAN countries, which generated a lot of interest among the audience. 

On 8 April 2013, Mr. Wang also participated in the Consultation Workshop on Piloting a Common Credit Transfer System for the GMS and beyond, which was sponsored by the Asia Development Bank and seeking Chinese universities counterpart for its pilot program.
