The Beijing CBD 2013 International Economic and Trade Fair for ASEAN was held in Beijing on 10 September, sponsored by ASEAN-China Centre, the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, and the government of Chaoyang District. Commercial counselors from Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Brunei attended meetings on cross-border cooperation and investment, which also brought together nearly 100 businesses, including the Beijing Bulk Commodity Exchange and China-Thailand Chamber of Commerce.
At the event, ACC and the government of Chaoyang District agreed to introduce competitive businesses in Chaoyang to ASEAN countries through ASEAN embassies in China and Chinese embassies in ASEAN countries, and build a broad-based platform for economic and trade cooperation. Such a platform, according to the leading official of the business committee of Chaoyang, will make full use of the embassies in this district and improve the role of CBD is providing business services.
