On 24 September 2013, Secretary General Ma Mingqiang of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) visited International Poverty Reduction Centre in China (IPRCC) and delivered a lecture on ASEAN-China Relations & Role of ACC. Ms. He Xiaojun, Deputy Director-General and at approximate 50 officials attended the lecture. The two parties also exchanged views on future cooperation in poverty reduction, especially narrowing the development gap in ASEAN Member States.
IPRCC was jointly initiated and established by the Chinese government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in May 2005. It has held ASEAN-China Forum on Social Development & Poverty for seven years and carried out bilateral pilot projects in Asian, African and Latin American countries. The 7th Forum was recently held in Fangchenggang City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on 21-23 August 2013, where ACC actively participated.
