From 24 to 27 October 2013, ASEAN-China Centre attended China International Travel Mart held in Kunming, Yunnan Province. It was the 2nd time for ACC and ASEAN Secretariat to jointly attend the Mart after 2012 Shanghai China International Travel Mart.
The total area of the exhibition hall was 50,000 square meters, including 2,359 booths from 102 counties and areas. Among them, 1,941 were domestic booths while 418 booths belonged to international and overseas organizations, accounting for 17.7 per cent. About 100,000 people visited the Mart and in total 5.94 million advertisement materials were distributed. The types of exhibitors continued to expand and consisted of governmental tourism organizations, tour agencies, hotels, scenic spots, airline and cruise companies, travel websites, pre-order systems, etc. Enterprises became the overwhelming participants of this Mart and accounted for over 70 per cent of the total exhibitors.
The backdrop of ACC booth featured the large pictures of symbolic ASEAN sceneries and attracted around 20,000 professional personnels and public visitors to consult on the spot, who showed great interests and enthusiasm at traveling to Southeast Asia. China International Travel Mart was launched in 1998 and has become one of the largest and most influential travel marts in the Asia-Pacific region.
