In November 2013, ASEAN-China Centre and China Central Television jointly dispatch TV crews to Indonesia to shoot tourism documentaries. The crews not only went to well-known places like Jakarta and Bali, but also Yogyakarta, Medan, Bandung, destinations less known by Chinese travelers, but with great potentials. Besides filming landscapes, historical and cultural heritages and delicacies in each place, the crews also interviewed the Princess of the Royal Family of the Sultanate of Yogyakarta as well as the business community in Indonesia.
Aiming to enhance mutual understanding between the peoples of ASEAN and China, and lay a solid foundation of public opinion for the friendly relationship between ASEAN and China, the project was initiated as one of the concrete measures of ACC to promote and facilitate people-to-people connectivity and cultural exchanges between ASEAN and China. The footages shot in Indonesia will be edited into two tourism documentaries, namely “Discovery Southeast Asia-Indonesia” and “Taste Southeast Asia-Indonesia”, which will be aired on CCTV from January 2014.
