PHNOM PENH, June 10 (Xinhua) -- The fifth edition of a Malaysian trade exhibition kicked off here on Tuesday, aiming to further promote bilateral trade and investment ties, officials said.
The three-day event, held at the Diamond Island Exhibition Center, features 62 Malaysian companies from diverse sectors including construction, business services, industrial products, education, health care and tourism, Malaysian Ambassador to Cambodia Raszlan Abdul Rashid said at the opening ceremony.
"The exhibition aims to explore business opportunities and collaborations with Cambodian companies and to promote Malaysian products and services to Cambodian customers," he said. "It will further facilitate Cambodian and Malaysian businessmen in enhancing trade and investment through identifying potential business partners and sourcing of quality products and services from Malaysia."
Chhuon Dara, secretary of state of the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, said the event would contribute to further developing bilateral ties in economics, trade and investment.
"It is a good opportunity for Malaysian businessmen to explore Cambodian partners for their business expansion," he said.
