On 23 December 2014, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC),working closely with the Central Institute of Vocational and Technical Education (CIVTE) of Ministry of Education (MOE), China, organized the ASEAN-China Forum on TVET Cooperation. The Forum was attended by 34 participants from Chinese vocational education institutions, officials of the MOE of China, education officers from the Embassy of Laos and Myanmar in Beijing, as well as some media reporter.s Mr. Tri Purnajaya, Director of Education Culture and Tourism Division (ECTD) of ACC, Ms. Sun Xuejing, Education Officer, and Ms. Huang Yingying, Education Assistant were among the participants of the Forum.
Dr. Yang Jin, Director-General of CIVTE elaborated on the current development, the essence, purpose and mission of vocational education, and basic outlet for vocational development. Dr. Yang Jin also gave detailed elaboration and guidance on key issues, such as how to improve the governance structure and governing capacity, as well as the quality of talents training. His speech inspired all the participants . The participants expressed their keen interest to take an in-depth look and further develop the contents of vocational education, explore suitable training mode and teaching method of vocational education, strengthen cooperation and exchange, so as to improve the level of vocational education, cultivate improved and qualified talents, and meet the needs of the ever growing society.
Director Tri Purnajaya, Deputy Director Wang Daoyu, senior official of International Department of MOE of China, Education Officials from the Embassies of Myanmar and Laos in Beijing presented their views on vocational education cooperation between ASEAN and China.
The Forum was the 11th activity of the ACC Lecture Series for China-ASEAN Double 100,000 Student Mobility Goals.
