The ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) represented by Ms. Sun Xuejing, Education officer from Eduction, Culture and Tourism Division (ECTD), participated in the ASEAN Deep Learning Policy Series & The Right Leads for a Great Future in Bangkok, Thailand, on 30-31 January 2015. The event, co-organized by the ASEAN Secretariat, SEAMEO and British Council, was attended by nearly 200 representatives, including former ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, officials from the Ministries of Education (MOE) of ASEAN countries, universities representatives and relevant education organizations from ASEAN countries, as well as international enterprises, like Microsoft Corporation.
The Seminar discussed the current development in ASEAN, as well as the opportunities and challenges in education leading up to the establishment of the ASEAN Community. ACC representative took this opportunity to extensively engage with the attendants, and briefed on ACC's role and efforts in promoting the education cooperation and exchanges between ASEAN and China.
On the sidelines of the Seminar, ACC representative met with the Vocational Education Commission of the Ministry of Education of Thailand. Both sides have agreed to organize a group of Chinese vocational colleges’ tour to Thailand in 2015, and hold a workshop for vocational colleges from China and Thailand.
ACC representative also took the opportunity to visit Panyapiwat Institute of Management, a private college in Thailand, and explored possible cooperation between the two sides.
