On 11 February 2015, Mr. Tri Purnajaya, Director of Education Culture and Tourism Division (ECTD) of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) paid a visit to China Education Association of International Exchange (CEAIE) and met with Deputy Secretary-General Shen Xuesong. They discussed the follow-up work program of the visit to Indonesia by CEAIE in December of 2014.
Deputy Secretary-General Shen Xuesong commended ACC for its role in ensuring the success of CEAIE’s visit to Indonesia, and informed the outcomes of the visit. She said that the two sides discussed about the “100 plus 100” collaboration mode between higher education areas of the two countries, by selecting 100 universities from each side, carrying out in-depth cooperation, thus, to form networking and grouping cooperation system between the universities; developing “50 plus 50” or “100 plus 100” cooperation mode, in which the two sides recommended an equal number of secondary vocational schools separately as one on one partner, and to carry out in-depth cooperation. The collaboration covered a wide range of cooperation which may include teacher training (teaching method, business enterprise practices), principals and administrative staff training, students cultivating and curriculum cooperation and etc.. Deputy Secretary-General Shen shared outcomes of the meetings between CEAIE and SEAMEO QITEP LANGUAGE as well as LPMP (Quality Assurance Agency in Bali), the challenges in the cooperation program, and hoped for the continued support and assistance from ACC.
Director Tri Purnajaya congratulated the fruitful and productive outcomes during the visit, and reiterated that ACC wouldl continue to offer strong support and assistance to facilitate the follow-up activities. He emphasized that ACC remained committed to promoting functional cooperation between China and ASEAN in the area of education, and would spare no efforts to further enhance collaborations and partnership among them.
