ACC Attended the Closing Ceremony of China-ASEAN International Youth Football Tournament

From March 4-11 2015, the First China-ASEAN International Youth Football Tournament was held in Dongxing, Guangxi. The Tournament was organized by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, China Football Association and Dongxing Municipal Government, and supported by ASEAN-China Centre. On March 11, ACC delegation led by Ms. Huang Ying, Acting Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre and Director of General Affairs and Coordination Division attended the closing ceremony and presented the awards to the participating teams. Mr. Jing Dunquan, Vice-Chairman of Soong Qingling Foundation, Mr. Wei Jixiang, Vice-Chairman of China Football Association, Mr. Liao Rufen, Secretary of Dongxing Municipal Committee of CPC, Mr. Zhou Gang, Mayor of Dongxing were also present at the event. At the same day, the guests also attended the China-ASEAN Youth Friendship Trees Planting together with the teams from ASEAN countries.

 

The Tournament is held to promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and ASEAN as well as build a platform for exchanges and mutual learning of football among youths of China and ASEAN. Football teams from Malaysia, Myanmar, and Vietnam participated in the Tournament. ACC, as supporter of the event, networked and worked closely with organizers and participants.

 

During the stay in Guangxi, ACC delegation also paid visits to China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat, China-ASEAN Research Institute of Guangxi University, Dongxing Municipality and ACC Public Service Center, and exchanged views with Ms. Huang Yuan, Vice Secretary-General of CAEXPO, Mr. Liang Ying, President of China-ASEAN Research Institute, and Mr. Liao Rufen, Secretary of Dongxing Municipal Committee of CPC on the future cooperation. Ms. Huang Ying also hoped the ACC Public Service Center contribute more to ACC’s development.
