Director of IPRD Met with Renowned Artist Ms. Rita Zhao in Preparation for “My ASEAN and China” Multimedia Art Exhibition Series

On 18 March 2015, Ms. Lada Phumas, Director of the Information and Public Relations Division (IPRD) of ACC, met with Ms. Rita Zhao, a renowned artist, at ACC Secretariat. They had a discussion on a plan and preparation in organizing the 7th “My ASEAN and China” Multimedia Art Exhibition Series in 2015. 

Since 2012, ACC has, in collaboration with Ms. Rita Zhao, successfully co-organized “My ASEAN and China” Multimedia Art Exhibition Series for six times, featuring Malaysia (Magical Malaysia), Viet Nam (Charming Viet Nam), Cambodia (Khmer Smile), Brunei Darussalam (The Abode of Peace), and Laos (Peaceful Laos) as well as all the 11 members of ACC in various cities of China to allow the Chinese friends to admire the beauty and charm of ASEAN as well as enjoy good and close friendship between ASEAN and China.

In the past years, over 800 photographs and dozens of oil paintings by Ms. Rita Zhao depicting the wonderful culture, tradition, architecture, nature, folk custom, history, and the daily life of the peoples from ASEAN and China were displayed at the exhibitions, attracting tens of thousands of viewers across China. The exhibitions reflected a close and cordial bond between the peoples of ASEAN and China, and demonstrated an active role ACC has been playing through its implementation of the annual projects and activities in enhancing mutual trust, better understanding and interaction between ASEAN and China as well as raising public awareness of the diverse and vibrant cultures of the 10 ASEAN Member States and China.
