On 1 April 2015, Mr. Wang Yueping, Deputy Director of General Office of Xiamen Municipal Government, accompanied by other delegates, paid a visit to ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) and met with Ms. Huang Ying, Acting Secretary-General and Director of General Affairs and Coordination Division (GACD), and Mr. Li Yuan, Director of Trade and Investment Division (TID) of ACC.
Mr. Wang Yueping briefed on Xiamen Municipal Government’s consideration on participating in the building of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. Deputy Director General Zhou Lumin of Bureau of Ocean and Fisheries of Xiamen gave detailed information on the 2014 Xiamen International Ocean Week. Centering on “Maritime Silk Road and Blue Economic Cooperation”, he hoped to further discuss and explore this topic with ACC, with a view to improving ASEAN-China maritime cooperation.
Ms. Huang Ying gave an introduction on ACC’s unremitting efforts in enhancing ASEAN-China relations in the fields of investment, trade, education, culture, and tourism. She pointed out that 2015 was the ASEAN-China Maritime Cooperation Year and ACC was willing to conduct cooperation with Xiamen Municipal Government at an appropriate timing, so as to jointly explore and promote ASEAN-China maritime cooperation and exchanges.
