On 8 May 2015, China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) was officially inaugurated as an Affiliate Member of SEAMEO in the 48th SEAMEO Council Conference held in Chonburi, Thailand. Deputy Secretary-General Zhou Yan, on behalf of CEAIE was officially presented the membership certificate by the Thai Education Minister H.E. Admiral Narong Pipatanasai. CEAIE is now the 4th Affiliate Member following British Council, International Council for Open and Distance Education and University of Tsukuba.
This is another achievement made by ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) in promoting ASEAN-China education exchanges and cooperation. In 2013, ACC facilitated CEAIE to become an Affiliate Member of SEAMEO, provided assistance in organizing mutual visits and participated in important activities of the both sides. After more than a year of work, CEAIE was accepted as SEAMEO’s 4th Affiliate Member. This partnership will promote more exchanges among ASEAN and Chinese education institutions as well as facilitate comprehensive and more meaningful cooperation.
