On 25 June 2015, H.E. Mr. Li Shulei, Member of the Provincial Communist Party of China (CPC) Standing Committee and Director of the Publicity Department of Fujian Province, met with the ASEAN media delegation joining the "Reporting Trip" under the theme visit of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road". H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), Mr. Ding Xiaoming, Director-General-level Inspector of the State Council Information Office (SCIO) of China, Mr. Lu Chengsheng, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of Fujian, Ms. Chu Yanli, Director-General-level Inspector of the Office of Foreign Affairs of Fujian Province, Ms. Zhao Jun, Vice Editor-in-Chief, and Mr. Huang Yulong, Assistant President of China Report, were present at the meeting.
Director Li Shulei, on behalf of the Provincial CPC Standing Committee and the Publicity Department of Fujian Province, extended his warm welcome to the ASEAN media delegation, and expressed his sincere gratitude to Secretary-General Yang Xiuping for leading the ASEAN delegation to conduct the "Reporting Trip" to Fujian. He expressed that ASEAN countries are China’s friendly neighbours. Fujian had special historical ties with ASEAN countries. A great number of Fujian emigrants have been living and working in ASEAN countries, and Fujian enjoyed close and friendly relations with ASEAN countries. This was the first time that the delegation of journalists from nine ASEAN countries made its reporting trip to Fujian. It was expected that the ASEAN journalists would make comprehensive reports on what they see and experience in Fujian, and introduce Fujian’s achievements since its reform and opening up to ASEAN countries. He hoped ASEAN journalists would visit Fujian on a more regular basis.
Secretary-General Yang Xiuping extended her heartfelt appreciation to Director Li Shulei for the warm hospitality and considerate arrangements made for the ASEAN journalists. She said that Fujian had been carrying out close cooperation with ASEAN countries with abundant achievements. ACC would continue to collaborate with and render its support to Fujian, so as to publicize the development of Fujian, and to help elevate the exchange and cooperation between Fujian and ASEAN countries to a new level.
ACC initiated this "Reporting Trip" project, co-hosted the project with the State Council Information Office of China (SCIO) and co-conducted the project with China International Publishing Group (CIPG) and China Report, from 23 June to 2 July 2015, where the ASEAN media delegation visited Beijing, Fujian and Guangdong respectively.
