On 6 June 2015, the "Window to ASEAN" cultural festival was organized by the ASEAN Students Associations in Beijing at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), with the support of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC). Around a thousand people attended the half-day festival, including the Philippine Ambassador, ASEAN diplomats, ACC representatives, students from various countries as well as the general public.
At the Opening, the ASEAN Students Association expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the sponsors of the event, including ACC. Lim Keakruy, one of the organizers from Cambodia said the event aimed at promoting awareness about the rich culture of ASEAN, strengthening ASEAN identity, building friendship and connecting the ASEAN students based in Beijing. Lim also thanked ACC in extending its support for the students initiatives. Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division (ECTD) of ACC, Mr. Tri Purnajaya, attended the festival, mingled and interacted with ASEAN students at their respective country booths.
The crowd was enticed by photos and painting exhibitions, typical ASEAN culinaries, traditional songs and dance performances and games, showcasing the cultural diversity of ASEAN. The festival was jointly organized by the students' associations from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam, who set up booths displaying the rich culture of each ASEAN country. Besides ACC, other sponsors include the Royal Embassy of Cambodia, UIBE, etc..
