On 29-30 June 2015, ASEAN media delegation, joining the “Reporting Trip” on the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road", co-hosted by the State Council of Information Office (SCIO) of China and ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), visited Xiamen and conducted the interviews. Xiamen was the last stop in Fujian Province before the delegation would be heading to Guangdong Province on 30 June 2015.
Upon an arrival in Xiamen, the delegates had a site-visit to the Administrative and Service Centre of Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone and interviewed Mr. Dai Ping, Chief of Coordination Department, who was keen to explain on how the Pilot FTZ in Xiamen operated to serve as a link in the “One Belt One Road” initiative and support relevant industries in China and some ASEAN countries. The ASEAN media journalists went further to visit Xiamen Service Outsourcing Industrial Park and the Creative Area of Haicang District of Xiamen and interviewed an exemplary young enterprise maker at Xiamen Hailian Building in Haicang District. The Industrial Park and the Creative Area of Haicang District were the two samples of industries which had enjoyed the facilities provided by the Pilot FTZ in Xiamen.
