On 28 July 2016, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), visited Kerry Logistics (Hong Kong) Company Limited.
Chairman of Kerry Logistics and former Foreign Minister of Singapore George Yeo extended a warm welcome to Secretary-General Yang. George Yeo said that ASEAN-China relations were of strategic importance. Against the backdrop of accelerated regional integration, ASEAN and China enjoyed increasingly close cooperation in economy, trade, connectivity and other areas. Leaders of both sides set the target of trade volume of USD 1 trillion by 2020. Logistics was important vehicle for conducting trade. He introduced the company’s efforts to establish logistics networks in both China and ASEAN countries.
Secretary-General Yang commended the contribution of George Yeo to ASEAN Community building and ASEAN-China relations. She briefly introduced the recent development of ASEAN-China relations and the work of ACC, and visited the warehouse, electronic testing centre, etc.
