On 13 July 2015, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping paid courtesy call to H.E. Prof. Hao Ping, Chinese Vice Minister of Education. Ms Chen Yinghui, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education (MOE) of China, also attended the meeting.
Prof. Hao Ping congratulated Secretary-General Yang for her assumption of the new post and briefly introduced the general international education cooperation between China and other countries, especially the latest achievements of ASEAN-China education cooperation, including the upcoming 8th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW) to be held in Guizhou in August 2015. Prof. Hao Ping highly appreciated the achievements that ACC had made in promoting ASEAN-China education cooperation. He expressed his willingness to deepen mutual exchanges with ACC in order to jointly further promote the functional and sustainable education cooperation between ASEAN and China.
Secretary-General Yang expressed her gratitude for the continued support from the MOE to ACC. She said that education had benefited almost 2 billion people in the 11 countries of ASEAN Member States and China, and ACC would spare no efforts in providing support to the 8th CAECW, and would further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation with MOE to promote ASEAN-China functional cooperation in the field of education and enhance ASEAN-China people-to-people exchanges.
