On 21 July 2015, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with H.E. Mr. Huang Ribo, Vice Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, who was on his visit to Beijing. Ms. Bian Jiang, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Guangxi Disabled Persons' Federation, was also at the meeting.
Vice Chairman Huang said Guangxi had been building itself into an international passage oriented towards ASEAN, a strategic linkage that served an opening of Southwest and Central South China, and a gateway integrated into the "Belt and Road" Initiative. He expressed appreciation to Secretary-General Yang and ACC for the strong support and assistance to Guangxi in its exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN countries. He hoped the hope that ACC would make greater contribution to ASEAN-China friendship and cooperation.
Secretary-General Yang highly commended the government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for its important contribution to ASEAN-China relations and stressed that the annual China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in Nanning not only provided a platform for cooperation between the two sides in economic, trade, culture, education and tourism, but also promoted exchanges and cooperation in transportation, science and technology, environmental protection as well as women and youth's affairs. She encouraged Guangxi, a pioneer in ASEAN-China friendship and cooperation, to work harder to advance all-round cooperation between ASEAN countries and China. The ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership had entered into a Diamond Decade. ACC would work closely with the government of Guangxi on all fronts to make new contribution to ASEAN-China and ASEAN-Guangxi practical cooperation.
