ACC Secretary-General Met with Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam

On 19 August 2015, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping met with H.E. Mme. Yang Jian, Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam.

Ambassador Yang Jian briefed on the efforts of the Chinese Embassy to Brunei Darussalam to promote people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. She expressed that since its inception, ACC had done lots of substantial work in promoting functional cooperation, mutual understanding and friendship between ASEAN and China. The year 2016 would mark the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations and China-Brunei diplomatic relations. The Chinese Embassy to Brunei Darussalam would like to strengthen communication and cooperation with ACC, and jointly contribute to the good-neighborliness and friendship between China and Brunei as well as between ASEAN and China.

Secretary-General Yang Xiuping thanked the Chinese Embassy to Brunei Darussalam for its strong support to ACC. She emphasized that ASEAN-China relations entered a new era and ASEAN-China functional cooperation embraced broad prospects. ACC would like to enhance communication with the Chinese Embassy to Brunei Darussalam, grasp the opportunity of the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations, and jointly promote exchanges and cooperation in the areas such as trade and investment, education, culture, and youth exchange between Brunei and China, with a view to promoting people-to-people connectivity.
