On 20 August 2015, the Viet Nam's Food Culture Week Opening Ceremony was held in Beijing. The event was co-organized by China Women Activity Centre and Viet Nam's Women Development Centre. ASEAN-China (ACC) Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Ambassador of Viet Nam to China H.E. Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Vice Chairman of All-China Women Federation H.E. Mme. Meng Xiaosi, Director of China Women Activity Centre Mme. Guo Xiang, and Director of the Viet Nam’s Women Development Centre Mme. Pham Thi Huong Giang, were invited to attend the ceremony and cut the ribbon for the event.
In her speech, Director Guo Xiang expressed that the Food Culture Week was a good platform for promoting China and Viet Nam cultural exchange, in particular, people-to-people and food culture exchange between the two countries. H.E Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Ambassador of Viet Nam to China expressed the hope to have more Chinese people taste and enjoy Vietnamese food.
The Ambassadors of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Argentina, and other representatives of the EU also attended the event.
