On 27 September 2015, the Closing Ceremony of the 13th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC) was held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre in Bali, Indonesia. ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping attended the Closing Ceremony. Mr. Zhang Jinxiong, Deputy Chairman of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneurs Association, H.E. Mr. Lin Jun, Chairman of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, H.E. Mr. Xie Feng attended the event and delivered remarks. They congratulated on the success of WCEC, and expected the Chinese entrepreneurs to boost cooperation, grasp the opportunities of "One Belt One Road", and participate in the reform, opening up and modernization of China, so as to make new contribution not only to enhance cooperation between residing countries and China, but also to promote world economic recovery and prosperity.
During the WCEC, various forums and activities were held, including Uniting Chinese Entrepreneurs, Accomplishing Mutual Success in Indonesia Forum, Revelations in Business:Successful Entrepreneurs Forum, Opportunities and Challenges: ASEAN Regional Integration Cooperation Forum, Maritime Silk Road, Cooperating for the Future: Maritime Cooperation Development Forum, and World Chinese Young Entrepreneurs Forum, as well as trade and cultural exhibitions. The participants held discussions in an in-depth manner on a wide range of issues, including the world economic situation, the role of Chinese entrepreneurs in the fast changing economic climate, ways to tackle the challenge of sluggish global economy, and expanding economic and cultural links among Chinese entrepreneurs. The participants were of the view that China’s development offered opportunities for business conducting of Chinese entrepreneurs, who shall boost cooperation and play the bridging role between the residing country and China, with a view to achieving mutual benefits and common prosperity.
At the sidelines of the WCEC, ACC Secretary-General Yang met with officials of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of China, and Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangsu, as well as business representatives from ASEAN Member States. Secretary-General Yang also made courtesy calls on H.E. Mr. Xie Feng, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, and H.E. Mr. Hu Yinquan, Chinese Consul-General to Denpasar. The meetings focused on how to further promote ASEAN-China relations and deepen all-dimensional exchanges and cooperation.
The 14th WCEC will be held in Myanmar in 2017.
