On 5 January 2016, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping met with Vice Mayor of Nanning Mr. Zhang Wei. Vice Mayor Zhang said that Nanning attached great importance to its exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN. This year marked the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations. He hoped that Nanning and ACC would further enhance contact and jointly push the functional cooperation between Nanning and ASEAN.
Secretary-General Yang expressed that Guangxi, enjoying unique advantages in developing friendly relations with ASEAN, had done abundant of remarkable work in this regard. The China-ASEAN EXPO (CAEXPO), which was held in Nanning, had served as an important platform for ASEAN-China exchanges and cooperation, as well as a beautiful symbol of Nanning in its exchanges with foreign countries. ASEAN-China relations embraced new opportunities. This year marked the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations, and the ASEAN-China Year of Educational Exchange. ACC stood ready to enhance communication with Nanning and join hands to make new contributions to deepen ASEAN-China functional cooperation.
