Mr. Yang Guobiao expressed, on behalf of FAO of Tianjin, his appreciation to ACC for its continued support and facilitation to the exchanges and cooperation between Tianjin and ASEAN, saying that Tianjin had in recent years maintained sound momentum in its cooperation with ASEAN countries in economy, trade and people-to-people exchanges. Tianjin was currently witnessing rapid economic and social growth and the setting up of China (Tianjin) Pilot Free Trade Zone (TJFTZ) in 2015. Tianjin now aspired to seize the opportunity of “Belt and Road” initiative to further explore its advantages and expand cooperation with ASEAN counties in the areas of economy, trade, vocational education, sister city, tourism and connectivity, and looked forward to the continued support from ACC.
Secretary-General Yang thanked Tianjin for its strong support to ACC's work, and commended Tianjin’s remarkable achievements in conducting exchanges with ASEAN. She expressed that ACC, since its inception, had worked closely with Tianjin in promoting ASEAN-China exchanges in economy, trade, education, women’s affairs, etc. The Secretariat of ASEAN-China Network for Cooperation and Exchanges among Engineering and Technology Universities and the ASEAN-China Chinese Language and Culture Education Base had been established in Tianjin. The preparation work of the establishment of the ASEAN Commercial Centre in China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City was well underway. ACC, ready to enhance communication with Tianjin, would grasp the opportunity of the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations and the ASEAN-China Year of Educational Exchange to explore the potentials for deeper cooperation, and join hands to strive for new progress in Tianjin-ASEAN all-round friendly cooperation.
