ACC Secretary-General Met with Director-General of Foreign Affairs Office and Director-General of Education Department of Guizhou Province

On 13 January 2016, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping met with Mr. Yuan Huimin, Director-General of Foreign Affairs Office and Mr. Wang Fengyou, Director-General of Education Department of Guizhou Province.

Mr. Yuan Huimin and Mr. Wang Fengyou expressed their gratitude to ACC’s strong support in helping Guizhou to carry out a series of exchange activities with ASEAN countries, especially in hosting the China-ASEAN Educational Cooperation Week (CAECW). They said CAECW, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and People’s Government of Guizhou Province, had been successfully host for 8 years and achieved positive results in enhancing bilateral education exchange. ACC's active participation had played an important role. 2016 marks the ASEAN-China Year of Educational Exchange, Guizhou Province attached great importance in the 9th session of CAECW, and hoped ACC could continuously leveraging the advantage of an inter-governmental international platform, in-depth participate and further facilitate the 9th CAECW so as to inject new impetus into the ASEAN-China education exchange. The Executive Secretary of CAECW Mr. Liu Baoli and Vice Director-General of Education Department Mr. Yang Yong briefed on this year’s working plan and the progress of preparatory work respectively, and looking forward to keep close communication with ACC.

Secretary-General Yang said that Guizhou had accumulated rich experience and made remarkable achievements by making full use of the international platform as CAECW and the ecological civilization forum to expand foreign communications in recent years, especially in promoting the economy cooperation and humanity exchange between China and neighbour countries. 2016 marked the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations and the ASEAN-China Year of Educational Exchange, with the establishment of ASEAN Community, the development of ASEAN-China relation faced new opportunities. As Guizhou had always been supportive of ACC’s work, ACC would like to further enhance communication and collaboration with Guizhou Province to jointly explore new opportunities in economy and humanity cooperation between Guizhou and ASEAN countries, and make CAECW better and better with an joint effort.
