ACC Secretary-General Met with Chinese Ambassador to Brunei

From 25 to 27 January 2016, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with H.E. Mme. Yang Jian, Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam and the representatives from Brunei-China Friendship Association and local enterprises respectively.

Secretary-General Yang Xiuping thanked the Chinese Embassy in Brunei for its great support to ACC, stating that the year 2016 marked the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations and  Brunei-China diplomatic relations, and this year also marked the ASEAN-China Year of Educational Exchange. ACC would like to strengthen communication and cooperation with the Chinese Embassy and other organizations, and make joint efforts to carry out relevant commemorative activities.    

Ambassador Yang Jian applauded the efforts of ACC to promote Brunei-China and ASEAN-China functional cooperation. She briefed on the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and the preparations the Chinese Embassy had made to celebrate the 25th anniversary of China-Brunei diplomatic relations. She emphasized that China and Brunei enjoyed close relations and practical cooperation between the two sides went smoothly. The Chinese Embassy in Brunei would make continued contribution to further enhancing the bilateral relations. 

Representatives from Brunei-China Friendship Association and local entrepreneurs expressed their willingness, in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy, to participate in the relevant celebration activities. They also hoped to strengthen communication and cooperation with ACC in the future.
