On 2 February 2016, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping met with Ms. Chen Yinghui, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education (MOE) of China at ACC.
Deputy Director-General Chen Yinghui praised ACC’s efforts in promoting ASEAN-China education exchange and cooperation. She said that this year was ASEAN-China Educational Exchange Year, the MOE attached great importance and was planning a series of exchange activities including the 9th China-ASEAN Educational Cooperation Week (CAECW), and hoped ACC could actively support and participate in these activities.
Secretary-General Yang expressed her gratitude for MOE’s great support to ACC, and said that promoting ASEAN-China practical cooperation in education was one of ACC’s main functions. 2016 marks the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations and the ASEAN-China Year of Educational Exchange, therefore, ACC would continue to play an important role to implement the consensus reached by the Leaders of ASEAN and China by organizing various activities in the realm of education exchange, participating actively in the 9th CAECW, and working closely with its partners to further develop ASEAN-China functional cooperation in education.
