“Touring ASEAN with Diplomats” Microblog Interview with Thai Ambassador Successfully Held

On 2 February 2016, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) conducted “Touring ASEAN with Diplomats” Microblog interview via ACC Microblog, inviting H.E. Mr. Theerakun Niyom, Ambassador of Thailandto China, as the guest of honor of the interview.

During the 2-hour interview, Ambassador Theerakun Niyom exchanged views online with ACC Microblog fans. He enthusiastically answered questions raised by the fans, covering a wide range of areas including Thailand-China relations, bilateral trade and investment, e-commerce, SMEs and high-speed rail cooperation, educational and cultural exchange, tourism resources in Thailand, as well as the role of Thailand in the process of ASEAN development.

Ambassador Theerakun Niyom appreciated ACC for its hard work in promoting ASEAN-China relations and for organizing this Microblog interview, which enhanced mutual understanding between the people of Thailand and China. He wished the Chinese friends a happy Lunar New Year. The interview was concluded with success with about 50,000 viewings.

ACC has so far organized the interviews with 5 ASEAN Ambassadors to China as guests of honor including Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand. The interviews were warmly welcomed and well received by ACC Microblog fans.
