ACC Secretary-General Met with Vice Governor of Guizhou Province

On 21 February 2016, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General ofASEAN-China Centre (ACC), paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Chen Mingming, Vice Governor of Guizhou Province. Mr. Wang Fengyou, Director-General of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, Mr. Yuan Huimin, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guizhou Province, and Mr. Liu Baoli, Executive Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee of the ASEAN-China  Education Cooperation Week, were present at the meeting.

Vice Governor Chen Mingming welcomed Mme. Yang Xiuping to visit Guiyang City at the beginning of the Chinese New Year and expressed his appreciation to ACC for its support to Guizhou’s development and opening up to the outside world, particularly for supporting the ASEAN-China Education Cooperation Week held in Guizhou. Vice Governor Chen hoped that ACC would continue to support Guizhou’s development in 2016 which marked the Year of ASEAN-China Educational Exchange. Guizhou Province would join efforts with ACC to make the Year of ASEAN-China Educational Exchange a great success and bring the all-round exchange and cooperation between Guizhou and ASEAN to new fruition.

Secretary-General Yang commended Guizhou Province on its achievements in social-economic development and appreciated Guizhou’s attention and support to ASEAN-China exchange and cooperation. She said that the ASEAN-China Education Cooperation Week had been heldin Guiyang for 8 years, which had played an important role in deepening the people-to-people exchanges, strengthening mutual understanding and promoting friendship between relevant countries. 2016 marked the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations and the ASEAN-China Year of Educational Exchange. The Ministry of Education of China had designed a list of activities for the Year, among which many activities would be held in Guizhou. The prospects for exchange and cooperation between Guizhou and ASEAN were huge. ACC looked forward to deepening cooperation with Guizhou, making full use of the platform of the ASEAN-China Education Cooperation Week, so as to enhance people-to-people exchanges, and build a bright future of common development and prosperity for ASEAN and China.
