ACC and CPDA Jointly Invited ASEAN Female Diplomats to Visit Beijing Fine Art Academy

On 8 March 2016, in order to further strengthen the culture exchange between ASEAN and China, on the occasion of commemorating International Working Women’s Day, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) and China Public Diplomacy Association (CPDA) jointly invited Ambassadress, female diplomats and wives of diplomats from ASEAN Embassies in China to visit Beijing Fine Art Academy. ACC Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, CPDA Vice President H. E. Mr. Hu Zhengyue, Ambassador of Lao PDR to China H.E. Mme.Vandy Bouthasavong, Ambassador of the Philippines to China H.E. Mme. Erlinda F. Basilio, and more than 40 representatives from Embassies of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, etc. participated in the activity.

President of the Academy Mr. Wang Mingming welcomed ASEAN female diplomats to visit the Academy, and sent the holiday greetings to everyone. He gave an introduction on the Academy and its foreign cultural exchanges, and expected to strengthen cooperation between the Academy and ASEAN countries through this activity. Vice President Hu Zhengyue, on behalf of the organizers, thanked the Academy for the thoughtful arrangement, and hoped to promote mutual understanding and exchange on culture and arts through the activity. Ambassador Vandy,on behalf of female diplomats, expressed her appreciation to ACC and CPDA for organizing the event. She expressed that she was happy to learn the history and features of the Academy. She hoped to strengthen ties to the Academy and learn more about the Chinese culture. Secretary-General Yang Xiuping presented ACC souvenir to President Wang Mingming.

Female diplomats of ASEAN countries appreciated with great interest the works of Mr. Qi Baishi, Master of Chinese painting. They also attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition for Ms. A Ge’s works, who is Chairwomen of Sichuan Provincial Artist Association, a famous female painter of Yi ethnic group, and visited her art exhibition.

The ASEAN female diplomats expressed that such event was very meaningful. They felt the charm of Chinese paintings, appreciated the profound China culture and gained a lot.
