Secretary General of ASEAN-Korea Centre visited ACC

On 10 March 2016, H.E. Mr. Kim Young-sun, Secretary General of ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) led a delegation to visit ASEAN-China Centre (ACC).

ACC Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping welcomed the visit of Secretary General Kim Young-sun and his colleagues, and their attendance at the Launching Ceremony of the Window for ASEAN-China Children’s Cultural Exchange on 11 March 2016. She said that ACC and AKC had kept close contact and maintained a good momentum of exchanges and learning from each other through mutual visits in recent years. ACC attached importance to exchanges and cooperation with AKC and ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC), and would like to join hands with AKC in making efforts to achieve positive results in tripartite cooperation among the three Centres. Secretary-General Yang introduced that the year of 2016 marked the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations, as well as the ASEAN-China Year of Educational Exchange. ACC would implement 19 flagship projects and organize or participate in a series of celebration activities. The two Centres could explore the possibility to conduct cooperation in the field of people-to-people exchanges such as youth exchanges.      

Secretary General Kim Young-sun expressed his appreciation for the invitation of Secretary-General Yang and the thoughtful arrangements of ACC, and hoped that the two Centres would keep the momentum of exchanges. He briefed on the recent major work of AKC, and invited Secretary-General Yang to visit AKC and attend its relevant projects and activities. He expressed his willingness to inject new momentum to the cooperation among the three Centres through joint efforts.

The delegation also visited the photo exhibition on ASEAN-China relations in the ASEAN Hall of ACC.
