ACC Received the Higher Education Delegation from LAO PDR

On 29 March 2016, a delegation from Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Sports (MOES) of Lao PDR visited ACC. The delegation included leaders from four national universities, officials from the MOES and Embassy of Laos in Beijing.

The delegation toured the exhibition hall showcasing the history and monumental achievements of ASEAN-China relations and ACC.  During the discussion, the delegation was briefed on ASEAN-China cooperation in areas of trade, investment, education, culture, and tourism, as well as ACC's role in strengthening ASEAN-China relations through functional cooperation. The experts from National Institute of Education Sciences (NIES) of China, one of ACC's important partners briefed on NIES's role and collaboration with ASEAN countries, especially the Southeast Asia – China Education Research Network facilitated by ACC. The delegation expressed their strong interest in ACC's role as an activities and information centre and expected more access to information on higher education of China and more opportunities for student exchanges and intercollegiate partnerships between Lao PDR and China.
